To the Editor,
If we are being disrespectful to the Chippewas because
we use them for our nickname then why is the Saginaw Valley tribe one
of the largest contributors to the university?
I’m an alumnus and proud of the way we use the Chippewa
nickname. Maybe we ought to remember how the members of the Huron tribe
tried in vain to keep EMU from changing their nickname to the Eagles
and ask the question “Who was being disrespectful?”
