J. Crew offers a lot of stuff

Those starving for culture in the world of fashion have found a brief shinning star in Mount Pleasant, the J Crew Wearhouse Sale, which is an experience in it of itself.
Located next to the Family Dollar in the former Sears Appliance Store, boxes upon boxes of clothes stacked on banquet tables, a la garage sale style no occupy the once appliance mecca of Mount Pleasant.
Sadly, the sale is only here until next week. But the turnout has been so amazing the last few days that the few days seems like all the store could handle.
The whole thing at first seemed a little shady, J Crew in Mount Pleasant? Something doesn’t seem right and the whole appearance of the operation didn’t seem completely on the up and up. The signage from Sears still remained, with a simple banner hung in the window sporting the J Crew logo. Outside alongside the road stood the standard big ol yellow sign, stating, “J Crew Wearhouse Sale.”
Inside banquet tables lined the rooms, with simple signs placed on each box stating the size of the contents, in each grouping of boxes a sign on a pole revealed the contents of the boxes, some signs would read, “Sweaters, Skirts or just a simple Pants.” The whole room was something you hear about that happens in New York City, you know a warehouse full of “Godzilla” bootlegs that is there one day and gone the next.
But after a few phone calls to J Crew HQ. I received confirmation that there was nothing bootleg or illegal about the sale. It is known as a tent sale and apparently they happen all across the country on a regular basis, according to the operator who wished to remain anonymous.
The best part about going to the “J Crew Wearhouse Sale” was the great welcome you received along with a price list (because they don’t have time to price anything, they’re just there to sell, sell, sell) and a clear garbage bag, similar to those used in hospitals to store various waste products; instead though you would be putting your finds in the bags for purchase.
Then the hunt begins and based on my observations if you were a girl you had to be ready for battle. As I glanced over at the womens section, I saw a lot of pushing and shoving going on as they rummaged through the boxes looking for that perfect skirt which they could then precede to rub it in the girl next to her face. It was clear that things could get ugly if it were down to two girls and that sweater for $8.99. I decided it would be in my best interest to keep my head up while searching for a shirt, just in case something were to happen.
Unfortunately none of my sick and twisted fantasies came true and I didn’t find any clothes either, but I just think that was to worried about other things.
The sale lasts through today and if you haven’t been you need to get out there just for the experience, but if you’re planning on to buy some stuff block off a three to four hours of some intense rummaging through clothes with one arm longer than another.
But in the wonderful town of Mount Pleasant, “The J Crew Wearhouse Sale,” comes but once a year and who wants to miss out on that? Besides you don’t want to be that person who doesn’t have a “J Crew Wearhouse Sale” story do you?
