I love the power glove
It seemed that annually the folks at Nintendo had some new type of cutting-edge controller that was going to change the face of video game systems. Here’s a complete list of all the useless accessories that you had to have for your NES.
R.O.B, (the robot which stands for Robotic Operating
Buddy)
ROB only came with the original system, which included the game Gyromite. Rob looked very similar to a smaller version of the “Omni 2000″ robot. ROB wasn’t that fun and he broke after one or two games. But if it weren’t for ROB sucking so bad, we would have never of been introduced to the Zapper or the now mainstay of all things Nintendo, Super Mario.
The Zapper
Duck Hunt, Gunsmoke, Hogan’s Alley and Gotcha the four the required evils of every Zapper owner. The Zapper was one of the great accessories offered by NES, the only problem is that they must not have thought so because of the lack of titles released for the Zapper.
There was nothing better than sitting two feet from the screen and shooting some ducks and every once and a while trying to shoot that damn dog.
The Power Pad
The whole point of the power pad was to get those kids who loved NES some exercise Enter Track and Field, you actually had to run fast to beat the game. The only issue was that you could never run fast enough to beat the computer, there was the possibility that you could beat your chubby friend or little sister. The end result of power pad play was always you on your hands and knees pounding the pad as fast as you could to beat the computer. So much for a healthy and fun NES accessory.
The Power Glove
“I love the power glove, it’s so awesome,” quips video wiz Lucas from “The Wizard.” Too bad he was lying. The power glove was on everyone’s wish list for Christmas and now in everyone’s attic after one use of it. It looked cool but that was about it.
The NES Advantage
Quite possibly the biggest controller ever. So big that you had to set it on the floor to play with it. It had a nice joystick (arcade style), huge buttons and of course turbo options. The advantage definitely gave you an advantage on some games. A true classic.
The Max
The max is the complete opposite of the NES Advantage, it is in fact smaller than the standard controller. The max had the cyclone controls that were aces for Ice Hockey. It also had turbo. The max takes it to the max every time.
Thank you. Have a nice day.
