Welcome home!

It’s that time of year again. Another Homecoming weekend packed with a pep
rally, parade, the crowning of the next Maroon and Gold Ambassadors, the Kent
State football game and most importantly, our returning alumni.
Our alumni are the reason our university thrives and their success, in turn, makes
our degrees more valuable. After all, our degrees are only worth the reputation
of our school.
Homecoming weekend welcomes back the alumni to their old stomping grounds. We
must embrace their pasts, marvel in their career success, and remember they were
here before us. It was the men and women who represented CMU as athletes, as graduate
students, as Greeks, as majors in all facets of CMU academics and those involved
in the variety of student organizations.
They have paved the road for the rest of us to excel, to become business professionals,
to follow in their success. This Homecoming we should be proud to cheer on our
Chippewas shoulder to shoulder with those alumni who made our university as great
as it is today.
