Welcome back to all the students!
The Soup Kitchen has a hard time without your gracious help. As you recheck your schedules, if you can give an hour or two from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. any day, except Sunday, please call Susan at 772-7392 to set up a time which is convenient for you. Thank you for your help in the past.
The Feinstein family of Rhode Island has, for the last four years, given a very generous check to the Soup Kitchen. Their challenge to soup kitchens this year is to collect signatures which will be sent to the president and Congress requesting that a commitment be made by them to end hunger in America. Every student is invited to stop in at the front desk of any residence hall, His House, Rose Arena front desk, the info desk in Bovee University Center or the CM LIFE office and sign
your name to this petition. Anyone can make copies of the petition, or download it from the Feinstein Web site at www.FeinsteinFoundation.com.
With these petitions the Soup Kitchen needs to report the amount of donations received between March 1 and April 30, 2001. All student groups, clubs, groups of friends, etc., are invited to conduct cash/check fund raisers for the Soup Kitchen. All these funds must be at the Soup Kitchen no later than April 1.
I realize how busy students are, but somehow you always come through for the Soup Kitchen. Therefore, you are coming through for the less fortunate, the needy, the guests who dine with us at the Soup Kitchen. It is your way of showing gratitude for your blessings.
