Friedman Letter
Before I leave CMU to begin working at the University of Louisville, I want to
express my appreciation and thanks to the university staff, donors, sponsors,
fans and community members that I have met and worked with for more than five
years.
First and foremost, thank you to Director of Athletics Herb Deromedi for giving
me the opportunity to work for him at CMU. Herb has helped me grow both professionally
and personally in more ways than I can adequately convey in words. He is a very
special person, and CMU is extremely fortunate to have him leading the athletics
department.
Under his leadership, the athletics program has experienced immense growth and
success, including the building of new facilities and winning the Reese Trophy.
As I expressed to a CM LIFE reporter — but unfortunately was misquoted in
Friday’s newspaper — I enjoyed playing a part in helping with these
endeavors under Herb’s guidance.
I would also like to thank the coaches, administrators, staff and student-athletes
with whom I have had the privilege of working. CMU has a great athletics staff,
and I look forward to following their outstanding achievements in the coming years.
And finally, I truly appreciate the many donors, sponsors and fans that continue
to support CMU and its athletics program.
Best wishes for continued success and as always, FIRE UP, CHIPS!
