Music Central opens up in Bovee Center
Ashley WilliamsonStudents have a new avenue on campus to purchase video games, CDs, movies and more.
Music Central, located in the lower level of the Bovee University Center. Starting
Sept. 3, its hours of operation will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through
Friday.
Erin Bauer, Clare sophomore and employee, said Music Central is run through the
CMU Bookstore.
“It was our boss’s idea. Blake Anthes is the manager, and he wanted
a music store on campus; something that students could use,” she said.
The employees of the bookstore, primarily students, will rotate their shifts to keep the business open.
“Business is picking up. With the students buying books, there have been
a lot of people stopping by,” she said.
Along with being able to purchase video games, CDs, movies and posters, Bauer
said students also can just stop by.
“Anyone can bring in their own CDs to play in the store and we have a Playstation
that anyone can come in, bring in their own games, and play. We’re really
trying to be a place where students can relax,” she said.
