Volunteer Opportunities

The United Way Volunteer Center of Isabella County can help students find a meaningful volunteer experience. Voluntarism is one way to get valuable experience while making a significant difference in someone’s life.

Students who have thought about volunteering but don’t know where to go, may visit the center located at 402 S. University St., or call 772-6194. At CMU, students may also visit the CMU Volunteer Center in the Bovee University Center or call 774-7685.

  • Volunteers are needed to provide meals to the needy in the community. A local soup kitchen is in need of people to help serve, cook and clean in the soup kitchen Mondays through Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Bell ringers are needed to volunteer their time. Flexible hours are available.
  • Volunteers are needed to organize alphabetical files and update them with additional information. Flexible schedules are available.
  • A local Christmas program which provides gift and needed items to community families needs volunteers this holiday season.
  • Volunteers are needed to visit with elderly residents who are either homebound or in elderly care facilities.
  • A local food pantry is always in need of volunteers to help with stocking and distributing food items.
