A man is in custody in connection with the murder of a Warren
woman killed in Midland.
Twenty-six-year-old Jackie Mack was expected to be arraigned
Tuesday afternoon. Police say he turned himself in around three
Tuesday morning.
Mack faces murder charges in the death of 25-year-old Alison
Nelson. Police found Alison’s body Monday covered with a blanket
in the back seat of her car, parked at the Robin Oaks Apartment
Complex.
Police are not releasing any details about the cause of death or a
motive.
Alison had been missing since Friday.
Monday, Alison’s parents met the detectives investigating the case.
They came to Midland from Warren to talk with police, post fliers
and ask people for help. Their daughter worked for more than two
years at a Midland nursing home, and she returned last
Wednesday to attend a holiday party with former co-workers.
Alison spent that night at a friend’s house and was seen for the
last time the following morning. She was supposed to be back in
Warren Thursday for an interview to set up her master’s degree
classes.
Alison was a 1998 CMU graduate with a bachelor’s degree in
sociology. It was unknown as of Tuesday if she planned to
continue her education through Central’s College of Extended
Learning, which has a Warren site. Alison’s mom says her
daughter talked about how thrilled she was to go back to school
when they spoke for the last time Wednesday evening.
Police said Mack has a prior criminal record.
