Preston’s 4-percent raise not unanimous

Commissioners voted Monday night to approve a raise for City Manager Paul Preston.

Commissioner Ron Roby voted against the decision and Commissioner Jon Joslin was not present.

Roby said he voted against the raise for Preston because the amount of the raise was not congruent with the results of Preston’s reviews.

The approval was for a 4-percent increase in his pay. Preston’s salary will increase from $87,307 to $90,799, and a car allowance was increased from $325 to $360 per month.
