Editorial board needs research

I write in regards to your editorial published Wednesday. The onus is on the reporter, and certainly more so for the editorial board, to check the facts regarding what they publish if their publication is too be taken as an accurate reflection of reality. In your editorial, you say, “Bob Kohrman, College of Science and Technology dean, is assuming the suites of provost. While Kohrman may be qualified for the position, the duties of both dean and interim provost may be too taxing to handle in the long run.”

If your editorial board had researched the situation prior to writing the editorial, you would have found that Dr. Rich St. Andre is the interim dean of the College of Science and Technology, relieving Dr. Kohrman from a need to function in two positions. Dr. St. Andre’s position is also being filled on an interim basis, but I will leave it up to your investigative skills to determine who is filling that slot.
