Open house will introduce new computer system

Campbell Hall residents will soon have the chance to experience a next
generation computer lab.

This month, students will be able to print from the convenience of
their residential hall rooms rather than having to print from the
computer lab.

There will be an open house from noon to 4 p.m. Friday in the
Campbell Hall lobby for students and faculty who are interested in
learning how the system works. Experts will be around to answer any
questions.

“It’ll provide more software and options to students,” said
Christian Schreiber, assistant director of Technical Operations for
Residences and Auxiliary Services.

Schreiber said students will be able to do this by logging in
through a Web site.

This is being initiated throughout Campbell Hall during the
remainder of the semester, before becoming a campus-wide service in the
fall. Schreiber said that this will provide time to work out all of the
bugs before the upcoming school year.
