Kulhavi recognized for top awards

It isn’t every day someone is recognized in Research Magazine’s “The
Winner’s Circle” and included on the Barron’s “America’s 100 top
Brokers” list.

CMU Board of Trustees Chairman John Kulhavi has accomplished both.

Kulhavi, who has been on the board for three years, has been vice
president of the Merrill Lynch Corporation in Farmington Hills since
1969. Merrill Lynch is one of the worlds leading financial management
and advisory companies.

It is an investment bank and a leading global underwriter of debt
and
equity securities and strategic advisor to corporations, governments,
institutions and individuals worldwide.

The Kulhavi Group, based in Farmington Hills, was one of eight
Merrill
Lynch Teams distinguished in Research Magazine’s “The Winner’s Circle
IV: Wealth Management Insights from America’s Top Financial Advisors.”

The title is a book by R.J. Shook which, according to
TheWinnersCircleNet.com, recognizes the most outstanding financial
advisors in the business who represent the highest levels of ethical
standards, professionalism and success in business.

“Out of a universe of several hundred thousand advisors, we took a
look
at the cream of the crop, around 7,000 nominations,” Shook said. “From
there we performed our diligence to narrow the list to 100. John and
his team were selected because of the world-class advice and service
they provide to their clients.”

The Merrill Lynch Company is one of the world’s largest managers of
financial assets, with assets under management of $478 billion.

“We consider it a great honor to have been included on Barron’s and
Research Magazine’s lists of America’s top brokers,” Kulhavi
said.”To have been included amongst the nation’s best and
brightest financial advisors is a true privilege, and we are greatly
appreciative of the recognition.

Not only is this an accomplishment for Kulhavi and his team, but it
gives respect to CMU and it’s faculty.

“In addition to his excellent service as chair of the CMU Board of
Trustees, too few people know that John Kulhavi is recognized regularly
as one of the nation’s top financial advisors/stock brokers,” said
University President Michael Rao. “John is a member of a board with a
membership that includes people who are all top leaders in their
fields, in addition to being excellent board members for CMU.”
