Villanova looks to go 3-0 against ranked teams

No. 3 Villanova Wildcats (10-1) at No. 9 Texas Longhorns (13-2)

Overview: Villanova is 3-0 on the road and 2-0 against teams ranked
in the top 10 this season. Senior guard Randy Foye is averaging 21
points, 5.6 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game. Texas has seen most from
its starting forwards, with junior P. J. Tucker and sophomore LaMarcus
Aldridge averaging a combined 35.5 points and 19.4 rebounds per game.


Michigan Wolverines (11-2) at No. 6 Illinois Fighting Illini (15-1)

Time: 4:30 p.m. Saturday

Location: Assembly Hall, (16,153)

TV: ESPN Full Court

Overview: The Wolverines are 0-2 against ranked teams this season
and 0-5 against the Fighting Illini since 2002. Senior guard Daniel
Horton leads the team with 15.8 points per game, while junior
forward-center Courtney Sims averages 14.5 points and 7.4 rebounds per
game. Illinois began the season with 15 consecutive wins before losing
against Iowa last Saturday. Senior guard Dee Brown leads the team with
14.9 points and 5.3 assists per game.


Northern Illinois Huskies (8-4, 3-1 MAC) at Akron Zips (9-3, 3-0 MAC)

Time: 7 p.m. Saturday

Location: James A. Rhodes Arena, (5,500)

TV: None

Overview: Northern Illinois won last season’s matchup between the
two teams 66-58 Dec. 4. Junior center James Hughes is averaging 10.3
points and 3.5 rebounds in 20.2 minutes per game for the Huskies.
Junior forward Romeo Travis leads the Zips with 14.3 points and 5.8
rebounds per game. Akron is 6-0 at home and leads the MAC in scoring
offense with 77.2 points per game.


Toledo Rockets (8-4, 1-3 MAC) at Bowling Green Falcons (5-8, 1-2 MAC)

Time: 2 p.m. Sunday

Location: Anderson Arena in Memorial Hall, (5,000)

TV: None

Overview: Toledo won its first MAC game Tuesday against Buffalo
73-70, and is 1-3 on the road this season. Junior guard Justin Ingram
leads the team with 14.6 points per game. The Falcons have held
opponents to a 41.3 field goal percentage, best in the MAC. Junior
guard Martin Samarco leads the team with 18.1 points and 5.3 rebounds
per game.
