“Lucky Number Slevin” is a stylish thriller that will command
your full attention.

With its Tarantino-esque script and a plot thicker than all the
blood spilled in the movie, “Slevin” is a surefire hit.

Josh Hartnett (”Black Hawk Down”) stars as Slevin, a man who is
caught in the wrong place at the wrong time – or so the viewer thinks.

He is mistaken for his friend Nick, who owes money to the wrong
people. Since he can’t come up with the money, he is asked to do a
favor for “The Boss,” played by Morgan Freeman (“Driving Miss Daisy”).

That favor comes at the expense of The Rabbi, played by Ben Kingsley
(“Gandhi”), who also is owed money by Nick.

Right after The Boss is done with Slevin, The Rabbi finds him and
demands the money owed.

All of this is being spun by a world-class assassin know as Mr.
Goodkat, played by Bruce Willis (“Die Hard”). He knows that Slevin
isn’t Nick and he is playing both The Rabbi and The Boss.

All the while, Slevin is falling in love with Nick’s neighbor,
played by Lucy Liu (“Charlie’s Angels”), and she somehow gets involved
in the whole mess.

And that’s only the first half-hour of the film.

The sets are very well designed. The cinematography is fast-paced
and will keep any audience on the edge of its seat.

Director Paul McGuigan (“Wicker Park,” “The Reckoning”) does a great
job with his superb cast and placement of crucial points in the plot.

By the end of the movie, everyone has done a Kansas City shuffle.
Don’t know what a Kansas City shuffle is? Go to the theater to find out
and enjoy one of the best movies yet this year.
