Billiards Tournament

RPL department looks to benefit cancer society

The Recreation, Parks and Leisure Department is hosting a billiards tournament at 8 p.m. today at Wayside Central, 2000 S. Mission St. There will be single-person 9-ball and double-person 8-ball tournaments, as well as raffles, dancing and a concert. All the benefits will go to the American Cancer Society. Single-person entries are $10 and double-person entries are $15. No cover fee will be charged and donations will be accepted at the door. Anyone with questions can e-mail ACSpooltourn@hotmail.com.

The Society of Mechanical Engineers is hosting a meeting open to anyone interested in an industrial career. The meeting will take place at 5:30 p.m. today in the Industrial and Engineering Technology Building room 138. Free and reduced-cost memberships will be available. Residence Hall Assembly will host a panel discussion about study abroad opportunities in Africa at 8 p.m. today in the Calkins Hall Terrace Lounge. Applications due

at 5:30 p.m. today

The fourth annual Mr. and Mrs. Blue and White Competition applications are now available to those looking to compete in an event that showcases talent, compatibility and creativity. The event, hosted by Zeta Phi Beta and Phi Beta Sigma, will take place at 5:20 p.m. April 24 in the Bovee University Center Auditorium. The applications are located in the Multicultural Education Center in the lower level of the UC and are due at 5:20 p.m. today in the UC Student Organization Center Box 033.

The McNair Scholars Program is holding a graduate school information meeting and pizza party for prospective McNair Scholars at 5 p.m. Tuesday in the Bovee University Center Maroon and Gold Room. LIbrary Exhibit

‘Hateful Things’ display ends Friday

This week will be the last students and faculty can check out “Hateful Things,” an exhibit documenting artifacts such as nooses and art depicting African-Americans. The exhibit on loan from Ferris State University will conclude its visit to CMU on Friday. The exhibit is located on the third floor of the Charles V. Park Library and is open to the public. The Office of Minority Student Services is sponsoring the exhibit.

Program Board

Free acoustic

singer tonight

Program Board will have a free concert for students at 8 p.m. tonight in the Bovee University Center Rotunda. Todd Carey, a rock and pop acoustic guitarist and singer, will perform as a part of Program Board week. The event also will include free food. Anyone with questions can contact Program Board at 774-3174.
