College reopens search for next dean; three finalists not selected
Applications still are being accepted in the search for a new dean of the College of Health Professions.
Former finalists Joyce L. MacKinnon, David White and Daniel Bernadot were not selected, said Kristi DePaul Ries, assistant director of media relations.
“As always, the university is interested in finding the person who is right for the position, not in trying to rush the process,” Director of Media Relations Steve Smith wrote in an e-mail to Central Michigan Life.
The former candidates visited the campus in January for interviews and open forums.
According to the current job posting on CMU’s Web site, the review of applications will begin immediately.
“It is anticipated the successful candidate will be hired by May 2008, with a start date of August 18, 2008,” according to the Web site.
Thomas Masterson, interim dean of the Dean Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow College of Health Professions, said he will fill the position as long it takes to find the new dean.
“It’s an honor to be dean of a college at a university like Central,” Masterson said.
