BURNING QUESTIONS | Meet defensive end Josh Allison

Editor’s note: Redshirt freshman defensive end Josh Allison, who is competing for playing time this season, talks with staff reporter Justin Berndt.

Justin Berndt: If not the NFL what do you want to do after college?

Josh Allison: Probably own a restaurant. I’ve always wanted to be an entrepreneur.

JB: What’s one thing about you most people don’t know?

JA: I like to collect movies, I’m a big movie buff. I’ve got a lot of classics like Top Gun, Varsity Blues. Any type of movie; I love to watch movies.

JB: Who’s your favorite actor?

JA: I don’t know his name, but Stiffler from American Pie.

JB: Alright movie buff, Batman or Spiderman?

JA: Batman.

JB: Who’s your best friend on the football team?

JA: Tredale Kennedy. Another defensive lineman. Ever since we got here when we were true freshmen we’ve lived together. We were in the dorm together and we’ve just been there for each other.

JB: What’s your daily routine during the season like?

JA: I get up around six to go lift. We’ll be done around nine. I’ll go eat. Then I’ll have classes all day probably until about one or two. Then I’ll have practice until about six. Then I’ll probably have another class at night and then we’ll have film and stuff, so everyday is pretty packed.

JB: What video game are you working on right now?

JA: Call of Duty 4 for XBox 360.

JB: Other than football, what sport do you excel at?

JA: I don’t know. I’ve always just loved football. I did track, I threw shot put all through high school, but I really just enjoy playing football.

JB: What football player did you idolize growing up?

JA: John Lynch from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He’s a hard hitter and my favorite number’s 47. He’s a typical football player. I used to always idolize him.
