Housing fair Tuesday in the UC
Students who do not have a place to live for next year should not stress out because Tuesday there will be a housing fair held on campus.
Central Michigan Life is hosting the Mount Pleasant Community Housing Fair from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Bovee University Center Rotunda Room.
Local apartment complexes, such as, United Apartments, Campus Habitat, Copper Beech Townhomes, Canterbury and Yorkshire Apartments will be available for students to talk to and sign leases.
Students will be able to ask questions, search for perfect accommodations, and even sign on a place to live.
“The housing fair held last November was a huge hit,” said Oak Park senior and CM Life public relations representative Timothie Davis. “The housing representatives there will offer accurate descriptions and information.”
Davis said students will be able to see all of the major players in the housing field of Mount Pleasant.
In past events there have been incentives at the housing fairs such as door prizes, food and candy, Davis said.
Although students can not physically see the locations, general information such as floor plans and pricing will be offered, she said.
Commerce Twp. Freshman Jaclyn Ottinger attended a housing fair last semester and said it was “extremely helpful.”
“It’s a pain to walk all the way to my car and drive around looking for places to live,” Ottinger said. “The housing fair on campus made it so much more convenient, and I was able to fit it into my schedule.”
The people there were really nice, and I was able to sign on an apartment for cheaper than the normal price just because I came to the event, she said.
“Although I had never actually seen the apartments before I signed on them,” Ottinger said. “The lady answered all of my questions truthfully to help me make my decision,”
