Hot summer entertainment starts at Soaring Eagle this weekend

The Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort is calling for a “Sizzlin’ Summer” in Mount Pleasant.

This weekend the casino will kickoff the seventh annual Cruise’n Car Show at 11 a.m. on Friday. The event will also welcome the 2008 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees the Ventures at 8 p.m on Friday and the Blues Brothers and The Sacred Hearts at 8 p.m. Saturday.

William Masterson, executive director of marketing sales and entertainment, said the car show generally attracts 300 plus cars and he expects the event to fun for all ages.

“We are also going to be giving away a 1973 Mach 1 Mustang. It is a pretty nice ride,” he said.

The car show is free to the public, while a drive-up entry fee for entering a car in the show is $30.

Tickets for The Ventures only cost $10 for all seats.

Despite Blues Brothers popularity Masterson said there are still great seats available in the concert hall.

“There are pretty decent seats left. We’re about 50 percent full,” he said.

Ticket prices for the Blues Brothers and the Sacred Hearts start at $76 for reserved seating, $60 for general admission and $38 dollars for obstructed view seating.

Those who would like to purchase tickets can call 1-800-585-3737 or buy them online at www.soaringeaglecasino.com.
