UPDATE: University looks into Central Alert system errors

Central Michigan University officials are working to identify the problem that occurred with the Central Alert Emergency Notification system Monday night.
“Numerous text and voicemails were erroneously distributed due to a technical glitch,” according to an e-mail sent out to the campus community at about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The messages were sent to evacuate the Music Building because of wafting hydrochloric acid fumes, Facilities Management officials said.
