Early one morning just down the hall from 406 I awoke to see a figure seated in one of our chairs, apparently asleep. Figuring that he was a friend of one of my roommates who had perhaps had a little to drink and passed out, I finished my trip to the bathroom and headed back to sleep. When I woke up the figure was gone, but the door was locked (from the inside unless he had a copy of our key). None of my roommates had stirred in the intervening period. I asked each of them who their friend had been, but none of the three guys knew anything about it.

My two roommates and I were the first residents of Room 406 of Cobb Hall! We had a fourth roommate for part of a semester - but she never went to class and eventually "de-matriculated" from the university. Maybe it's "Ginny"? Perhaps it could be Bertha Ronan. The three of us lived in Ronan Hall in the fall of '69. They closed the hall that Jan. and we had to move to Carey (which was just completed). The girls lived on the top three floors and the rest of the hall was boys - the first coed dorm on campus! It was scandalous! (You have to realize, we still had to wear skirts or dresses to Sunday dinner in the dining hall). We then moved to 406 Cobb when it opened. So perhaps Bertha followed us! To ease your minds, we lived there until June of '73 - some of the best years of our lives! All three of us have been gainfully employed for 36 years and keep in touch, even though we live in three different areas of the country. So, enjoy! Take good care of Cobb 406!!!
