Forum looks to expand discussion about CMU medical school

email

The adoption of a medical school at CMU has perpetuated some misconceptions among students.

In efforts to confront these misconceptions, the Student Government Association invites students to participate in an open discussion with Dr. Cam Enarson, interim dean of the medical school.

Dr. Enarson will be discussing the status and misconceptions that have enveloped the medical school, as well as answer any questions students may ask.

SGA strongly urges any student interested in the topic of the CMU medical school to come to the open forum to express their questions, comments and concerns. The open forum will be held at 7 p.m. today in the Dow Science Complex, Room 171.

SGA encourages you to attend the forum to give what is truly valued on campus — constructive student input.

I haven’t heard what the turnout was, but I’d guiess it was meager. The trustees will then interpret that as an endorsement of the medical school. In fact, the time to expand the discussion of the medical school should have been before the trustees and Mike Rao railroaded it through … in other words, when an expansion of the discussion would have actually mattered.
