Just remember that a very large number of CMU students aren't Mt. Pleasant residents/voters. Still, under 6 percent, even in an off-year, is sad. It's also almost more damning of the post-college crowd in town I might add.
Hopefully some of them did vote, or send a absentee if they could in their local elections.
2010 midtem turnout will be more indicitive of how the youth vote was or wasn't turned on by the political process following 2008.
And for anyone who thinks I'm just spouting off, no, there were no 2009 elections out here in my state, so I'm not being some kind of hypocrite wagging my finger at anyone.
But essentially, I agree with the urge to get out there when you can and even casually get into a rally or something if you can from time to time. Get involved. Let's just keep it civil, shall we?
