This seems to be written by Dennis Lennox with out the current Campus Conservative Board's knowledge. The hard to understand sentences and poorly written paragraphs in certain parts, smells of him on his blackberry trying to fire this out during class.

And who is the Campus Conservatives Board of Trustees? Can't the the CCs speak for themselves? It would be like the "Campus Republicans Board of Trustees," which you would never see happen because the Campus Republicans actually have a true political agenda, other than being obstructionists, and are a professional organization as opposed to a small angry group of Lennox wannabes.

Nikki - point taken, I misunderstood, thinking 'her' referred to Gov. Granholm.

'response' - you are saying Granholm 'should create jobs'. I thought you conservatives didn't believe in government intervention in the economy? You certainly scream and wail about Obama's stimulus package!

Its unfortunate that Jenny wants to come to our campus to support her own political agenda. What some people tend to forget was she was the one who took our scholarships away. The money she took was used to fund her programs. She also took away money from grades k-12, i believe it was $127 per pupil. Now she wants to raise taxes on the citizens to refund the schools so she wasnt the bad guy to take the money away. Essentially she raised money for her programs by stealing from students and then taxing the citizens. And in the grand scheme of things the % that the money recieved to students didnt help a tremendous amount. There are other means of financial aid out there.

Having a well educated work force is good for MI but with no good jobs everyone is leaving so the tax would be as good as wasted. Maybe she should create jobs first.

It is dumb to think everyone is poor and she wants to tax us from our left pocket to put money in our right. Talk about the shinny penny trick.

States are generally referred as "her" - I think it is meant to say Granholm's lack of leadership has cost Michigan its future.

What 'cause'? She cannot run for reelection next year, so has no personal axe to grind. What we do not need in these tough economic circumstances are massive cuts to public services, which will make more people unemployed, and hinder our chances for recovery in the future by hitting education - an educated workforce is one of the best guarantees of economic prosperity. If that mean more taxes, so be it - and if those taxes fall on the Republicans' rich friends and corporate backers, that would be no bad thing either.

Oh, and by the way, the last sentence of the CCs' letter makes no sense. "And the governor’s inability to lead Michigan has cost the state her future." - what does that even mean?
