Whats the deal? Why does everyone have such a negative view of Detroit? Personally, I think that Detroit is going to be a huge place of renaissance in the next five years...These self hating Michiganders need to chill out and start being proud of themselves again. So some entrepreneurial Detroit started a paper and the first issue looks a little un-professional...big deal dude. Give it time and the Detroit Daily will be good. For Pete's sake have a little faith!

Kudos to Hoffman for having a positive outlook on what IS A ROCKIN CITY!

Good luck, you're going to need it. The paper looks horrible. It looks like it was put together by a high school student. It is the most uncreative piece of crap I've ever seen. They took 2 whole pages of Lions photos and didn't use the space well at all. Looked like sh*t. The headline on the sports front was equally uninspiring... Lions win!
I wonder how long it took them to come up with that great one. Good grief, this paper won't last a month. They are paying crappy wages promising the employees they will pay more when they make a profit. Bull. Those employees are not unionized and will not see a dime increase. If the paper lasts, they may even be replaced with even cheaper labor. This is a disgusting attempt.
Seriously folks. It is BAD.

I agree, the industry isn't dying. However, it's going to be much tougher for younger graduates in the field to get their foot in the door after graduation.
It's been tough enough for me and several others I know, and I've been graduated since '07. With what's happened since then, I shudder to think how much it's gotten for outgoing students...
