Sports Update: Boilermakers handle men’s basketball

The men’s basketball team lost 64-38 against Purdue Saturday in West Lafayette, Ind.

Tied early at nine, the Boilermakers seperated from the Chippewas with a 9-0 run. Five straight points by CMU would get it within four, but that was as close as the Chippewas would get.

Purdue outshot CMU 45.5 percent to 28.3%. The Chippewas were outrebounded 31-21 and struggled with fouls all game. Junior forward Will McClure fouled out and seniors Chris Kellermann and Robbie Harman each finished with four.

Central Michigan (2-4) hosts Chicago State at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Rose Arena.

Check Monday’s edition for expanded coverage on the loss against Purdue and Tuesday’s matchup against the Cougars.
