Two arrested for series of break-ins

Two suspects have been charged with as many as 17 home invasions dating back to November.

Mount Pleasant resident Ashley Nicole Bush, 25, and Lake resident James Michael Foster, 21, were arrested on Dec. 28 following another home invasion, according to the Mount Pleasant Police Department.

According to the MPPD, the crimes took place mostly during the day. Materials taken had a total value of around $21,000.

“(They took) flatscreen TV’s, computers, electronic equipment, a gun, personal safes, coin collections,” said MPPD Public Information Officer Dave Sabuda. “Anything of value that he was able to carry with him. You name it.”

Foster faces charges of home invasion, concealing a weapon, possession of a weapon by a felon, felony firearms and obstructing/resisting arrest. Bush faces a charge of home invasion. The suspects were arraigned Dec. 29, the day after their arrest.

Sabuda said more charges, especially for the thefts, will be coming as the MPPD continues their investigation. The police are still trying to figure out if Bush and Foster had roles in all or only some of the break-ins.

“We took forensic evidence, and now we’ve got to match it up,” he said. “We’ve got a lot of interviewing to do.”

Since the arrest of Bush and Foster, there has been no report of the break-ins continuing, Sabuda said.
