A female was transported to Central Michigan Community Hospital with unknown injuries after she was struck by a car as she crossed Washington Street.

A male driving a black Scion XB struck the female, said Officer Jason Powell of Mount Pleasant Police Department.

Powell said they received the dispatch at 8:20 p.m. Thursday.

“The vehicle was making a left hand turn on to Washington Street, and struck a pedestrian crossing the road,” Powell said.

Several police cars, a fire truck, and a towing truck blocked Bellows Street while the officers were investigating the accident.

Powell said the female’s injuries were unknown.

Although there were no damages made to the vehicle, Green’s Towing and Recovery towed the black Scion XB away from the scene at 9:20 p.m.

Powell said there was no further information on the female. The male driver was taken away for questioning to further investigate the accident.
