Brown signs contract with Pittsburgh Steelers

Hard work pays off.

Former Central Michigan wide receiver Antonio Brown was signed by the Pittsburgh Steelers Tuesday. The Detroit News reports it is a three-year deal worth $1.28 million. ESPN also reported that he will earn a $73,075 signing bonus.

The 5-foot-10, 186-pound Brown was drafted by the Steelers in the sixth round (No. 195 overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft.

Recent reports have praised Brown’s work in rookie camp and outside team activities. On June 1, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Ed Bouchette said he has “spunk” after getting into a punching match with 6-foot, 208 pound cornerback Keenan Lewis.

Brown declared his intention for the NFL Draft after his junior season. He holds the CMU all-time record for receptions with 305 and was named first-team All Mid-American Conference six times for receiving and special teams.
