Packers sign Gordy to practice squad
A second member of the 2009 Central Michigan football team has landed in Green Bay.
Cornerback Josh Gordy was signed Wednesday to the Green Bay Packers practice squad, two weeks after being waived by the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Gordy replaces linebacker Robert Francois, who was also released Wednesday by the Packers. He will wear No. 27 for Green Bay.
The 5-foot-11, 195-pounder was signed by Jacksonville in April as an undrafted free agent. He recorded three tackles while seeing limited action in three preseason games for the Jaguars.
Gordy, a four-year starter from Warthen, Ga., lead CMU with three interceptions and was a second-team All-Mid American Conference selection last season.
