Storage facility approved at Lexington Ridge Apartments
Lexington Ridge Apartments, LLC. will build a 30 by 60 foot accessory building on the southwest corner of their property, 3700 E. Deerfield Road.
The building will store various components of apartment management.
“We’ve got stuff kind of stored all over now, and we want to consolidate it in one location,” said Tim Driessnack, operations manager at Lexington Ridge.
The construction was unanimously approved by the Union Township Planning Commission, contingent on adherence to set conditions, Wednesday night.
The finished building must meet the fire department regulation of a 20-foot access drive leading to the building. To create this drive, one or two parking spaces in the area will need to be removed.
Driessnack said the complex currently has adequate parking and the removal of said parking spaces will not be detrimental to the complex.
The finished accessory building will be one story, covered in vinyl siding to match the rest of the buildings at the apartment complex. It will have power, but no access to sewer or water.
“We will have power in there, but it’s not going to be for living,” Driessnack said. “It’ll be for light.”
Following the completion of the building, it was recommended that a row of 6-foot-tall evergreen trees be planted along the east side of the building to provide a barrier.
Driessnack submitted the plan request on behalf of the property owner, David Lapham.
They do not have plans to rent or lease the building, Driessnack said.
