CMU QB coach Jay Johnson named offensive coordinator at Louisiana-Lafayette
In addition to finding players to fill future recruiting classes, Central Michigan head football coach Dan Enos will have to fill a member of his coaching staff.
Quarterbacks coach Jay Johnson has left the program to become offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Louisiana-Lafayette, ULL head coach Mark Hudspeth confirmed Monday evening via Twitter. The move was first reported by footballscoop.com Monday afternoon.
CMU could not confirm the move when contacted. Enos is currently on the recruiting trail and could not be reached for comment.
Johnson joined the Chippewas before the 2010 season after spending two seasons at Louisville, and five at Southern Mississippi and Kansas, respectively. This season, he worked directly with sophomore quarterback Ryan Radcliff, who completed 282-of-466 passes for 3,358 yards and 17 touchdowns.
The Rajin’ Cajuns hired Hudspeth on Dec. 12 following a 3-9 season under then-head coach Ricky Bustle.
