Survey results could lead to fee for University Health Services for increased services
University Health Services sent out a survey to students to evaluate the effectiveness of the program as part of an annual effort by the university to review its operations.
“We want to figure out where we can increase some of our services,” said Thomas Masterson, Jr., associate dean of the College of Health Professions.
The survey concludes next Friday, and results are expected to take a few weeks. Students who receive the survey are encouraged to complete it.
“Having some student input is vital to the process,” Masterson said, “and part of the survey is marketing. We want the students to know that these services exist.”
The results will be part of a review report that will be sent to upper level administration.
On the survey, there was a question asking if students would be wiling to pay a fee for the health services.
“I would be willing to pay a fee, but it depends on the fee,” said Wyandotte senior Rudy Barron. “I wouldn’t mind paying something like $20 dollars but anything higher than that would be unfair, I think.”
The fees may come with an increase in services.
“We want to see if we can increase some of the services, and the program may need some extra money to do that,” Masterson said.
