Two-car accident on Mission Road leaves one dead

One man is dead and a woman has been hospitalized after a car crash on South Mission Road just south of East Walton Road Monday morning.

The man, Arthur Lee Kestner, 58, of Six Lakes, was driving north in a 1992 Ford Festiva when a 2005 Ford Taurus driven by Amy Suzanne Bailey, 34, of Shepherd, crossed over from the southbound lane and struck him, according to a release from the Isabella County Sheriff’s Department.

Kestner, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene. Bailey was wearing a seatbelt and was transported to Central Michigan Community Hospital and then Blodgett Hospital in Grand Rapids. Her injuries are currently unknown.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the incident.

The accident, at which the ICSD was assisted by the Shepherd Police Department, Shepherd Tri-Township Fire Department, Fremont Township Fire Department and MMR Ambulance, is still under investigation.

What a bad luck, so sorry for individuals who encounter such. However, we have learned from here that a seatbelt have had made a difference. SO? always fasten it.
