Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort hosts annual fireworks display
Fourth of July weekend was a time for the Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort, 6800 Soaring Eagle Blvd., to give back to the community and show its love of the country by offering a free fireworks show.
“The casino’s fireworks are some of the best in Michigan around this time of year, so many people show up to watch them,” said Frank Cloutier, Soaring Eagle’s public relations director.
According to Soaring Eagle’s website, three bands played Sunday night during the fireworks; Montrose, Jedi Mind Trip and Harlet. A carnival was also held.
“I believe it’s a great way to give back to the community by the Casino lighting off fireworks for everyone to see,” said 18-year-old Mount Pleasant resident Sarah Schafer.
Schafer said she spent her holiday weekend with family and friends, watching fireworks and spending time at a lake.
Celebration is truly in the air every year during this time, and many people seem to have the same idea of how to celebrate it.
Mount Pleasant senior Kyle Mirk said he enjoys spending time with his family and friends at a lake during the Fourth of July weekend as well.
Though he enjoys the holiday weekend, Mirk remembers what Independence Day really means.
“This is a time to honor America and all the hard work and sacrifices of the service men and women had to do for our country before my time and after,” he said.
