Seven Chippewas travel to NFL training camps

The 2010 Central Michigan football team continued a recent trend for its football program.

Seven undrafted Chippewas will enter National Football League training camps throughout the week and can sign with a team as early as Tuesday, according to multiple sources.

Defensive back Vince Agnew will travel to Miami to workout with the Dolphins, linebacker’s Nick Bellore and Matt Berning are going to New York to try and earn a roster spot with the Jets and defensive lineman Sean Murnane was added to the Chicago Bears.

Offensively, offensive lineman Jeff Maddux will stay with the in-state team, traveling to Allen Park to compete for a spot on the Lions’ roster. Fellow offensive lineman Colin Miller is off to Pittsburgh, trying to make a roster that already contains former CMU wide receiver Antonio Brown.

Punter Brett Hartmann travels south to Houston to compete with the Texans.

This group joins seven active former Chippewas in the NFL.

How did Central Michigan go 3-9 with seven seniors in NFL camps, returning most of their defense including three NFL signees in their front seven, the best linebacking corps in history and the entire offensive line from the #22 team in the nation?

Were they 9-3 or really 3-9?

They were really 3-9. IMO it was their lack of a consistent offense that resulted in many of the losses. From the few games I was able to watch it seemed like Enos would start in a pro set, get behind, switch back to the spread, catch up, then go back to the pro set.

Guys…are we going to have to go through this all over again??  I’m tired before the season gets started!!!  We were really 3-9 because of coaching!! That hasn’t changed. And, if we loose to Western..it’s gonna get uuglee up in here!!!
