U.S. Rep. Dave Camp, R-Midland will join the “Super Committee”, the Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction, Speaker John Boehner, R-OH, said Wednesday.
The committee, also including Rep. Fred Upton, R-St. Joseph, is responsible for developing a bipartisan plan able to reduce the federal deficit by more than $1 trillion.
“I thank the Speaker for his confidence and trust in selecting me to serve as a member of the Joint Committee,” Camp, the chair of the House Ways and Means Committee, said in his press release. “Earlier this month, the House and Senate passed, and the President signed legislation that rejected job-killing tax increases as a way to reduce our debt and deficits. Last Friday’s downgrade of our debt by S&P is a strong reminder of how important it is for this Committee to lead and focus on restoring confidence in America by further cutting out of control spending and reducing the deficit.”
Boehner named Rep. Jeb Hensarling, R-Texas, as co-chair of the committee.
“If we are successful in curbing the overspending in Washington that has sparked fear in the financial markets and created uncertainty on Main Street, we will start to see the job creation we desperately need,” Camp said.

David better not wimp out on the Tea Party, conservatives, the middle class.
Dave needs to:
1. Slash all funding to liberal PBS and NPR Radio. Let the wealthy liberals fund it.
2. Eliminate the Dept. of Education. We don’t need all those overeducated paper-pushing bureaucrats.
3. Paycuts for all federal employees except the military and Homeland Security employees.
4. Get rid of the Environmental Protection Agency. Bunch of anti-business liberal bureaucrats.
5. Get rid of food stamps. Michigan proved this week 30,000 free-loaders including many college students who are getting a free ride.
6. Make everyone pay federal income tax. About 51 percent pay no income tax. Everybody including the poor pays.
7. Put a heavy tax on any corporation or business that outsources jobs overseas such as Dell Computer, McAffee, United Airlines and so many other businesses. Bring the job back to America from India and the Phillipines.
8. Send the illegals home to their country. Millions of unemployed American citizens can get back to work. They pay taxes instead of shipping money south of the border.
9.Stop the funding of Obama’s war in Libya.
10. Make General Electric and its liberal CEO Immelt, Obama’s pal, pay income tax. GE pays zero. They own 49 percent of liberal NBC, MSNBC. They need to pay taxes. Obama and the Democrats give them a free ride in return of those left-wingers Democrat Party PR agents on NBC News and MSNBC such as Chris Matthews, Rachel Maddow and Brian Williams.
Those are 10 to start with Dave. Above all, we don’t need more Obama socialism like tax hikes and more government spending. Communist and socialistic countries in history prove that system doesn’t work.
Calls for tax increases in one point, derides tax increases at the end. All hail the glorious free market, trickle down onto my face from heaven Ronald uguu~
