Flames extinquished after Red Lobster sign caught fire Thursday
Red Lobster, 4062 E. Blue Grass Road, is known for cooking lobsters, including the one on its sign.
The sign for Red Lobster caught fire at around 1 p.m. on Thursday.
Aaron Vickers, one of the workers from Complete Property Services, Inc., 1309 Redpole Dr., Dewitt, said the workers took down the old Wal-Mart sign and were cutting the pipes when sparks flew, catching fire to the bushes underneath the sign.
The fire was put out by the Mount Pleasant Fire Department.
Red Lobster management had no comment on the incident.
