Man found dead in Mount Pleasant field Tuesday morning

A 46-year-old man was found dead in open field on South Bradley Street in Mount Pleasant early Tuesday morning.

The man was reported missing by his family on Jan. 1 after he left the residence at approximately 3 a.m.

Mount Pleasant City Police Department was dispatched to the 500 block of South Bradley Street where they discovered the body of the man in an open field and determined he was deceased.

After a preliminary investigation it was discovered the man died of natural causes. The incident is still under investigation and the name has not be released. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
