Undetermined cause of house fire on Granger Street Friday morning; no injuries
There were no injuries at a house fire Friday at 1405 Granger St. and the cause remains undetermined.
Firefighters believe the blaze started in the living room of the Mount Pleasant home.
The call for the fire came in at about 9:22 a.m. and officials were on the scene soon after.
Flames were coming out of the living room window when firefighters got there, said Sgt. Michael Dunham.
“It’s devastating because there’s a lot of smoke damage,” Dunham said. “I don’t believe anyone was injured and we have about 25 Mount Pleasant Fire Department and Deerfield firefighters on the scene.”
Dunham said the resident’s car and dog were not inside the house at the time of the fire.
