Mount Pleasant man arrested for sexual abuse

 

A Mount Pleasant man faces up to life in prison after being arraigned Friday and indicted Jan. 25 by a federal grand jury in Bay City.

Allan Wade Pego Sr., 56, has been charged with three counts of aggravated sexual abuse, three counts of sexual abuse, three counts of sexual abuse of a minor and eight counts of witness tampering, court documents state.

All of the alleged offenses occurred on the Isabella County Indian Reservation.

In the indictment charges between November 1989 and November 1993, Pego sexually assaulted a minor victim numerous times.

It also charges Pego for incidents between June 2008 and July 2011, alleging he sexually abused a different victim.

The indictment also alleges that between Jan. 8 and Jan. 18, Pego tampered with witnesses that were scheduled to appear before the
grand jury.

The case was investigated by the Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Police.
