Former Central Michigan quarterback Dan LeFevour has found a new home, according to the Detroit Free Press.
LeFevour signed Monday with the Hamilton Tiger Cats of the Canadian Football League.
According to the Hamilton (Ontario) Spectator, the Tiger Cats have been looking to acquire LeFevour for the past four years.
“I bounced around the NFL for two years with a bunch of teams and I was sick of just standing around,” LeFevour told the Spectator.
LeFevour told Central Michigan Life last month while appearing at the grand opening for Dick’s Sporting Goods in Mount Pleasant that he had recently had a tryout with the New York Giants but had not heard back.
He will be vying for the No. 3 spot on the depth chart with former University of Michigan quarterback Tate Forcier. Ike Brown, a former teammate at CMU, is also on the team.
Hamilton made the CFL playoffs last season with an 8-10 record. The Tiger Cats open the season Wednesday, June 13, against Toronto.
LeFevour is the only quarterback in NCAA history to throw for at least 12,000 yards and rush for over 2,500 yards.
After he graduated from CMU LeFevour was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the sixth round of the 2010 NFL Draft. He was cut after a couple preseason appearances and he spent the rest of his rookie season as Cincinnati’s third string quarterback.
Before his second season, he was cut by the Bengals and signed a month later by Indianapolis. Soon after, he was cut by the Colts and signed by Jacksonville, where he was released on May 7.

Best wishes Dan!
Liking this signing, both as a CMU alum and a Ti-Cats fan. His mobility will make him much more suited for the Canadian game.
What a freakin’ shame the NFL never gave him the opportunity that Hoogeboom got!
