Another Central Michigan University student died Sunday, marking the fourth student death since the beginning of summer.
Danielle DeGroat, a spring 2012 graduate from New Hudson, died in a car accident, according to confirmation from the Office of Student Life.
According to the Livingston Daily, a 2000 Ford Explorer driven by a 64-year-old Jackson man stuck DeGroat’s 2002 Chrysler Sebring shortly after 1 p.m. Sunday. DeGroat was transported by helicopter to the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor, where she died later that evening.
A passenger in the car, a 21-year-old Green Oak Township woman, was transported to the hospital but later released. The Jackson man was not injured.
I really think once adults reach age 60, they should have to retake their driver’s test every 5 years to earn their license. Ryan Roberts died from a car accident caused by a 67 year old, Danielle from a 64 year old. This is ridiculous. Something needs to be done. They were so young!
You are incredibly ignorant for saying this. I was the passenger in Danielles car and if you knew the facts you would know that as horrible as it was the accident was caused by Danielle. NOT the poor man that will forever have to live with the fact and ridicule from people like you. Think before you speak because I cant imagine the pain you would cause that man if he were to read this.
