Students seeking to meet with recruiters to network and discuss internship and entry-level positions will have the opportunity Thursday.
Business organization Beta Alpha Psi will be host “Meet the Recruiters” night from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Bovee University Center Rotunda.
Some of the participating companies, accounting firms and government agencies include: Amway Corporation, Consumers Energy, Auto Owners Insurance, Dow Chemical Company, General Motors Corp., Ernst and Young, Quicken Loans and George Johnson and Company along with others.
The event is open to all students but concentrates on students with majors/minors in accounting, finance, management information systems, information technology and computer related areas.
Junior Ryan Hund, vice president of Beta Alpha Psi and event chairman, said this is a great way for students looking for internships and job opportunities.
“This will be an opportunity to meet representatives, and present resumes with the hope of landing a job or internship,” Hund said.
“Meet The Recruiters” night is a forum for making connections with recruiters who are offering challenging internships and professional entry-level job opportunities. Some employer representatives will offer formal on-campus interviews after the event.
“This is an opportunity for students to get one-on-one access with some of the top firms in the area and state,” explained Jeff Horning, Beta Alpha Psi president. “This provides isolated attention to students seeking employment in the field of accounting,” Horning added.
Recruiters will give students an idea of what to expect out of graduation and how to search for the kind of jobs they are looking for.
Senior Richard King is looking forward to attending this event for the fifth time.
“This is a great opportunity to make a connection and build a relationship with employers,” King said.
Students wishing to attend must dress in professional business attire and bring error free resumes to the event in order to meet contacts while seeking internships and employment.
