Sixteen individuals were taken to jail this weekend after police were called to a nuisance party three times Saturday night into early Sunday morning.
Around 2:45 a.m., Mount Pleasant police responded to the same Yorkshire Commons apartment, 7 Kensington Circle, where there was trash, yelling, fighting and alcohol bottles in the yard.
Mount Pleasant Public Information Officer Jeff Thompson said a large fight broke out the third time police responded.
The occupants of the home refused to open the door for the police and as a result, a search warrant was obtained, he said.
Of the 16 arrested and lodged at the Isabella County Jail, police said three were lodged for hosting the party and 13 were lodged for attending the party.
Police said the host of the party was the only person from the Mount Pleasant area.
Aside from the 16 arrested at the nuisance party, Thompson said 13 others were arrested during Central-Western weekend.

I hope the host isn’t a CMU athlete. I’d hate to see another sport kicked off campus.
