Weekend party on Washington Street ends in stabbing, suspect cuts fingers off
By Shelby Miller on November 5, 2012 1:20 pm / no comments
A party Saturday night on Washington Street resulted in one person stabbed and the suspect without his fingers.
Mount Pleasant Public Information Officer Jeff Thompson said police were called to 1023 S. Washington, where the hosts of a party tried to clear people out of their home because the party was getting out of control.
Thompson said when the male host told others to leave, a male stabbed him in the back with a knife.
“As of right now the incident is still being investigated and the details are not completely available for release,” he said. “It is my understanding that the assault was a result of the suspect being told to leave the party.”
The victim had a stab wound in his back and the suspect cut off several fingers when the knife slipped through his hand, police said.
Thompson said both the victim and the suspect were treated for injuries at McLaren-Central Michigan, 1221 S. Drive.
The suspect has been identified but has not yet been arrested, police said.
