Ryan Byberg of Weidman, Mich., is being held in the Isabella County Jail after being arrested yesterday for driving while intoxicated and child endangerment.
According to a news release from the Isabella County Sheriff’s Department, police responded to a single-car accident on W. Drew Road in Sherman Township at around 5:10 p.m. Byberg’s 1999 Ford pickup truck left the road and traveled through a ditch and into some trees.
While Byberg sustained some minor injuries, passenger Aubrey Wilson, 6, of Remus, Mich., was airlifted to Spectrum Health Services in Grand Rapids for treatment of possible head injuries.
“Aubrey Ana Wilson’s injuries included a concussion, minor lacerations, abrasions and bruising,” an updated release said. “She is expected to be released from the hospital sometime today.”
According to the original release, both passengers were wearing restraints, but Wilson was not restrained in a “belt-positioning booster seat.”
Byberg refused treatment for his injuries, and is being held on a $10,000 bond.
This accident is under continued investigation by the Isabella County Sheriff’s Department.
