The Union Township Board of Trustees held a brief, half-hour meeting Wednesday night at 7 p.m. at a new location as the Union Township Hall goes under renovation.
The meetings are being held at Jameson Hall, 5142 Bud St., for the rest of the month, as remodeling is underway on the regular Board Room at the Union Township Hall.
Building Official Randy Robinson gave the Board of Trustees an update on the renovations being done on Union Township Hall.
Robinson presented three carpeting options from various local carpeting companies. The new carpeting will be installed in specific areas of the Township Hall, including the main conference room. The Board of Trustees voted and the motion was approved to go with the cheapest option from Carpet One, which prices the carpeting at $7,849.
He said the re-painting of the new Township Hall would begin this weekend, and the windows will be installed Nov. 7. The target date of the completed renovations is set to be on Nov. 11.
Supervisor Russ Alwood also gave an update on the Isabella County Road Commission at the meeting. There is an estimated $8 million in planned roads and bridges slated for next year, which includes the Deerfield Road construction.
The next meeting will be held on Nov. 6 at Jameson Hall.
