Central Michigan 2014 football schedule announced

The Mid-American Conference announced the football schedules of its member schools including Western Division member Central Michigan, Friday.

The Chippewas will open the 2014 season at home against Tennessee-Chattanooga on Thursday, Aug. 28.

A week later, CMU is scheduled to head to Lafayette, Ind. to take on Big-Ten foe Purdue.

The team will travel to Lawrence on Sept. 20 for a game against Kansas before starting the conference play at Toledo, Sept. 27.

The Chippewas will host rival Western Michigan at Kelly/Shorts Stadium Saturday, Nov. 22.

CMU’s only bye week comes between the Nov. 1 tilt at Eastern Michigan and the Nov. 15 hosting of Miami (Ohio).

The schedule announcement comes the day after CMU made public plans to move the student section to the Eastern side of Kelly/Shorts.

  1. CMU announces they’ll move the coaching staff to the south end zone though the team remains on the west sideline.
